Goodbye Dresden, Hello Prague!

As much as we loved Dresden (even though it was pouring rain and Elbe river was flooded), we still had a great time! But our journey had to continue off to Prague.

I haven't really had the chance to talk about catching the train in Europe, but let me just say that I love it! It's actually easy to figure out, and if you need assistance, there is always someone around that speaks English that can help!

Dresden hauptbahnhof (Central Station in English!) was easy to navigate around. The platform for your train is on your ticket or on the screens at the station. We were excited because we actually figured out how to read our tickets! The train arrived, we found our wagon and our seats. And it was one of those cabin thingys that I wasn't expecting!

Our train was delayed which we weren't quite sure as to why. We then realised that it was because of the flooding going on. You could see the devastation through our window. It was quite sad. So our train ended up being about an hour late due to this. Thank goodness we still managed to get on our train because my husband said that they stopped all trains between Dresden and Prague!

Not a great photo, but this is all you could see on the way to prague. The river flooded!

The train overall was ok. A bit dirty but hey there were so many teenagers in our carriage drinking and playing loud music. Why not I guess? We had our cabin to ourselves for about an hour until people came it. It wasn't that long until they left. I would say that it was a pretty comfortable ride from Dresden to Prague. Even though it took us about an extra hour, I still would recommend catching the train. Mind you, there's no announcements to let you know which station you were at, so we were constantly looking at the station signs outside. One asian couple got off at the wrong stop which was the stop before Prague Central Terminal (poor guys!)

Arriving at Praha Central Station. Not was welcoming as the German Stations!

Eh.. it's an ok station

Yay for Prague! We made it!

Until then,
-V
