Beautiful! |
Ok, I apologise for the late posts! I was having a great time in Barcelona and didn't have time to blog! And, we had a close encounter in Milan which I will explain in my next post!
Anyway, we weren't in Milan for long, as it was pretty much a stopover for our next stop Barcelona. I didn't really schedule a lot of things for us to do in Milan, so it was just a roam around the area and see what we could find!
Milan is classified as a new city, so there wasn't a lot of ancient things to see. You can definitely see the change in architecture between the rest of Italy.
We walked from our hotel to the Cathedral (which was probably about half and hour.) It was a nice stroll even though it was a hot and humid day! The exterior of the cathedral was amazing. It is definitely a stand out in the middle of all the buildings in Milan. You could also walk to the top of the dome, but we thought we did too much climbing for the trip so far so we gave it a miss. The interior of the church was amazing too!
Right across from the cathedral was Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a very iconic shopping gallery with luxury brands! The architecture is the stuff that I love, so you could stare at it all day! You could sit at one of the restaurants inside the galleria but from what we saw it was a bit pricey!
Although it was a quick tour, we had an ok time in Milan. It would have been better if we got tickets to the Last Supper but we left it too late to book! So if you go to Milan, definitely book it in advance!
Next stop, Barcelona!
Until then,
