Hooray we made it! Good Evening Vietnam!

After a long day of flying and transferring, we finally made it to Ho Chi Minh City (aka Saigon)!

The flight here was pleasant. We flew with Thai Airways, stopping over at Bangkok for a couple of hours. Our flight was empty, so people were moving around like crazy getting their 4 seaters on so they can lay down!

The only thing that I would criticise about the flight would be the cleanliness of their plane. When you open your tray tables it was dirty! The tray table itself wasn't cleaned properly, and the seat where the tray table rests was full of old food stains! Other than that, the flight attendants were great, and the food was delicious! Overall, it was a good day flight.

We got to Ho Chi Minh around 7:45pm. A word of advice, if you need to get a visa, get one before you land! The wait for landing visas was long as, and after getting off a long haul flight, you don't want to wait around for your visa. It may cost more but trust me, don't do it!

When we got out of the airport it was stinking hot and humid! We weren't used to it as it was about 20 degrees in Sydney when we left! I opted for us to get airport transfers from our hotel as I read about the taxi scams in HCMC!

The one thing that shocked me. The traffic and the scooters! It was amazing! I love how they can all get along on the roads. They all had a mutual agreement. You won't see that happening in Sydney, it will cause too much road rage!

It took us about half an hour with traffic to get to our Hotel. I chose Blue Diamond Signature Hotel based on Tripadvisor ratings. Front desk were great and could speak English, and the room itself was reasonable. To check my review of this hotel click here.

I wanted to go straight out to explore HCMC but what was I thinking. We were way to tired! We decided to sleep it off and start early the next day.

Until then,

-V
