Prague: Charles Bridge, KGB Museum & Prague Castle

St Vitus Cathedral

We were so thankful that the weather held up for us, and that was a good thing too for Prague as the river was slowly going down. Even though it wasn't raining, it was still freezing cold (for me!)

We started to roam through the narrow and winding alley ways of Prague to get to Charles Bridge. It's so beautiful just getting lost in the alley ways, because you find so many interesting things!

Love the alleyways!

Anyone for Absinthe?

We finally ended up at Charles Bridge, the bridge that connects the Old Town with the Lesser Town. Because of the floods, the bridge was unfortunately closed, which is totally understandable. You wouldn't want an old bridge that's in the middle of a flood have so much human traffic on it. It would probably crumble! As much as I would have loved to walk on it, maintaining the bridge is much more important. We took some pics of the floods near the entry from Old Town. It was crazy! We walked the alternate route to towards the castle.

How beautiful!

Flooded! Near Charles Bridge entrance

It still looks beautiful with Prague Castle in the background

First stop though, the KGB Museum, a museum where a man had so much memorabilia that he decided to make a museum out of it. He was Russian and loved the history, and he made it enjoyable for us! A lot of things that I didn't know. Like did you know that the KGB snipers were women? Why? Because they had patience! Who would have known? Not me.. it's all different in the movies! It was pretty fun, and I enjoyed finding out things that I didn't know!

Look at me!

Such a pro! haha

Awesome poster!

Hahaha suits Lee cause his shirt matches!

Next stop, Prague Castle, which is meant to be the largest ancient castle in the world. And boy, they weren't kidding! It felt like it took us forever to get up there.. like climbing the Great Wall of China all over again! We got there and the place was huge!

More alleyways!

Czech donuts. They cook them on a stick so they're hollow!

Was our snack before our big trek up to the castle!
Half way there...

We made it to the castle!
We were so tired after the trek but hey it was worth it! I didn't realise that there was so many things to do in there but we were strapped for time again! I though it closed later but it didn't. Oh well. We managed to see a lot in about the span of an hour but I would totally recommend spending like half a day to a day here. It was beautiful and the views of Prague are even better!

Haha not as serious as the ones in London!

The inside of the castle

Amazing inside!

The front of the Cathedral - couldn't even fit in the pic!

This is what you can see from across the river
We then continued on into the Old Royal Palace (unfortunately you couldn't take any photos) but it was beautiful too. I can't believe how old the place is! Oh an by the way, it had fantastic views of Prague!

A beautiful view of Prague!
We found St George's Basilica (not as big as St Vitus Cathedral) but these days now serves as a concert hall! Would have been good to watch a concert in there! So nice that they can still use the old buildings!

The rain started to come and so we decided to leave the castle. The views again from the Castle are stunning, and you could literally just watch the view all day. It's so beautiful. On the way down, we there was a vineyard which I thought was the best! A small vineyard near a castle in the middle of Prague. So good!

I'm in love with Prague!

A vineyard in the centre of Prague!

So beautiful! There's a restaurant too if you wanted to eat and enjoy the view
After the long trek, we decided to go back home to rest our legs and go out again for a night out. We must've been that tired (well me! ) because I didn't end up waking up until midnight! Boo.. the travelling is getting to me. But all good, we still had another wonderful day in Prague!

It was a great day of sightseeing. Dreaming about coming to Prague has finally happened and I wasn't disappointed!

Until then,
-V
