After another day of travelling, we made it to Shanghai! I was so excited to arrive as our trip just keeps getting better! We checked into our hotel, and rested up for a bit before we decided to roam the streets to get our bearings of the city.
We started off walking along West Nanjing road, the longest shopping strip which goes for about 5.5km! No way did we walk that, but we were hungry so we were looking for a place to eat. We stumbled across this bar/cafe called windows garage. As soon as we walked in, it was like you walked into an American bar. No long after a whole lot of expats and foreigners started to come in, so it didn't feel like you were in Shanghai at all! The food was pub grub and cheap, and the alcohol was even cheaper! When we got there it was happy hour so we got 2 beers for 30 yuan which is about 4 bucks. Bargain! After seeing the prices we were thinking of getting messy so we started ordering jager bombs! At 5 dollars each why wouldn't you! After a beer and to jagerbombs I was feeling tipsy so we decided to settle down a little bit. All up we had a beer, a cocktail and 5 jagerbombs each and I was pretty much nearly drunk! Lucky we were still ok to walk back to the hotel but we were a bit loud on the streets. Oh well not to worry! It was a great night and a great start to our stay in Shanghai. Touristy things start tomorrow!
